Smith & Wesson - A Handfull of Handgun

We shot the S&W model M&P, 9mm at the local shooting range. It is a handfull of a gun.

First, it is rather heavy for a smaller size handgun.  The website puts the weight at 24 oz., empty.

Secondly, the magazine is designed to hold 10 cartridges, however, the clip is so difficult to load, we stopped at 8.  My fingers are still sore from pushing the cartridges in!

I personally don't like the placement of the slide release and the magazine release;  it seemed awkward and I had to look to see where the buttons are.

Once we got some bullets in the gun, it did shoot pretty well.  At seven yards, the pattern fell within a 3 inch circle. Recoil is not too bad for a 9mm.

Before you buy this gun, see if your local shooting range has one you can try. For my money (lists over $600), I would look for a different gun.

Concealed Carry Class

Attended the Concealed Carry class today, presented by Calibers (Greensboro Indoor Shooting Range). This course is required in North Carolina if you choose to carry a concealed handgun. There were 150 people in attendance (the same number the day before).
